Annual Fund is here – Grow, Blossom and Flourish with us!
This year’s Annual Fund theme echoes Principal Drayton’s message for the school year, “Grow, Blossom, Flourish.” Mayer saw school registration increase by over 150 students since last year — an exciting period of growth for our school, our community, and our potential.
And, since it’s that time of year when we all start to think about giving — giving thanks, giving gifts, giving our time — we hope you will consider giving to our Friends of Mayer Annual Fund. Your gift will help keep our school thriving!
Did you know that our CPS budget only covers 85% of Mayer’s annual needs?
That means we need assistance from families just like yours to make sure we preserve access to key resources. There are so many reasons to donate, but to name a few, your donations will:
Uphold our robust Essentials curriculum (PE, Spanish, art, music, library and design) for all students
Keep class sizes small
Ensure 14:1 student ratio by having a teacher and an assistant in all EC and E1 classrooms
Provide updated Montessori materials — Mayer is one of the handful of CPS schools with a Montessori program
Continue our extracurricular athletic programs
Support our outstanding and unique Wellness & Sustainability programming
Fulfill teachers' ‘wish list’ items, from printers to furniture, books to basketballs, plus 500+ other items that wouldn’t have been possible without your support!
New to Mayer? What is Friends of Mayer (FOM) and why do they need to raise money?
We are a not-for-profit group of parent volunteers whose mission is to support Mayer via fundraising and community-building initiatives. This fundraising goes towards bridging the gap between CPS’s budget shortfall and Mayer’s true needs.
Existing Mayer Family? In addition to helping keep Mayer whole, your donations last year also accomplished:
Aided families through the Bulldog Relief Fund, allowing students to take part in field trips/overnight trips
Updated the Guided Reading Library that houses over 3,000 books for all students
Purchased new speakers and microphones for Music to strengthen our Fine Arts programming
Sponsored the October Social Media Safety event
Funded Walkathon T-shirts and the Jesse White Tumblers

We’re all in this together! We understand that families have differing budgets, so while our suggested donation is $1,800 per student, NO donation is too small. Every donation is a seed that will grow our school and our community. Thanks in advance for helping Mayer grow, blossom, and flourish!

Company Match Program
Your donation can make an even bigger impact if your employer participates in the Company Match Program. Last year, we received $50,000 from company match programs! Make sure to check below or consult your employer’s HR department to see if your company will match your gift.
